PostSubject: MapleStory 1st Job Pirate - Pirate Skills, Pirate Skill Build (Skill Allocation) with Explanation!   MapleStory 1st Job Pirate - Pirate Skills, Pirate Skill Build (Skill Allocation) with Explanation! EmptySun Dec 28, 2008 5:14 pm

Requirement: Level 10, with 20 DEX
Head to Nautilus Port and find Kyrin. talking to her about “Path of the Pirate” should put you to Level 10. To be as ready as you can be, have a Lvl 10 Beginner waiting in “Forest East of Henesys”

How to read this skill build? 16 - 18 means Level 16, 17 and 18 [Level 16 to 18]. For 20 - 20, it means only Level 20. The guide below is purely a personal recommendation and need not be followed. Each skill listed below has advices/tips shared by senior players to guide you in building your character!

Pearl of Knowledge:
Pirate class uniqueness is it has a combination of most of the skills found in the 4 primary jobs (warrior, magician, thief and bowman), similar to a White Knight that has accessed to Ice/Lightning/Fire/Holy Elements from Magician. This makes it fun to play as pirate. Apart from that, the core skills could be leveled quickly because it has a max mastery of level 20, compare to the 4 primary jobs that requires level 30 to max a skill.

Below is the hierarchy order of Pirate advancement: [Pirate Main Page]
Pirate -> Gunslinger -> Vaklyrie (Outlaw) -> Captain (Corsair)
Pirate -> Infighter (Brawler) -> Buccaneer (Marauder) -> Viper (Buccaneer)

Notice: Skill Name Modification (GMS) [Old - New] [Skill Book & Mastery Book Locations]

Gunslinger Build (Shooter/Range)
This build is recommended for players who like range attack instead of close combat. Dash allows Gunslinger to travel quickly around the map and helps in training/avoiding monsters. Quick Motion allows Gunslinger to dodge enemy attack if monsters get too close while Double Shot is basically a less powerful version of Thief Lucky 7 Skill, which requires bullets (similar to arrows). Gunslinger is one of the fastest class in game and its 4th job skills has the most unique skills.

.
Reason for this build
First job build is fairly straight forward. Your primary training skill is Double Fire, a single target skill. Somersault Kick is still usable while equipped with a gun but the damage is horrendous. Quick Motion is maxed later because Gunslingers don’t need accuracy as much as Infighters do since dex is their primary stat. Another option here is to max Somersault Kick instead of Quick Motion if you want a mob attack in 1st job. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it since the range is small and it’s rather slow in comparison to Double Fire.

Infighter Power Build (Close Combat)
This build is recommended for players who likes to use multiple skills for close combat battle.
Quick Motion helps Infighter to avoid enemy attacks while being in mob by monsters and indirectly saves Hp Potions! It’s a great combination/combo with Sommersault Kick (also known as BackFlip kick) that attacks a few monsters nearby. Sommersault Kick is max early in this build as it allows you to attack many monsters, this greatly helps in leveling quickly

10 - 10 : Sommersault Kick 1

[Dash]
Momentarily increases speed and jump by double-tapping either the left or the right directional key. Take note that this move disables itself if you stand still for too long. Also, dash will disable if you bump into monster and move the opposite direction. This skill is similar to Thief 2nd Job Haste that provides Speed +40 and Jump +20. This skill is recommended to max to take advantage of super speed in early 1st job training till 4th job. Great for traveling long distances and within training grounds in big maps.

[Quick Motion]
Increases accuracy and avoidability by up to 20 points. This skill is recommended to have because accuracy helps alot in fighting against monsters with high avoidability. Players with high avoidability will spend less Hp potion if they get bumped into monsters since monster that lack of accuracy would not be able to hit them accurately! In GMS (Global MapleStory), this skill is called Bullet Time. Many players assumed that Bullet Time associates only for Gunslinger, and not Brawler/Infighter. Remember to check the skill description! Both class can use this!

maplestory pirate somersault kickSomersault Kick [BackFlip Kick / Moon Kick] (more info)
Attacks multiple nearby enemies with legs by jumping and spinning backwards. Somersault kick can be used when using ANY weapon and WITHOUT one as well, giving you much more versitility. Somersault Kick can be used with any weapon, even a snowboard! Flash Fist requires knuckles to be equipped. Thus, Somersault Kick is easier to use compare to Flash Fist.
_
Most infighter would max Sommersault Kick than Staright (also known as First Strike / punch) because it deals more damage if its used against 2 or more monsters and it helps to clear many monsters quickly!. Let’s take an example: Infighter uses Sommersault Kick against 3 monsters, the damage would be 190% X 3 = 570% damage! If there were 6 monsters, it would be 1040% damage. This skill is similar to Warrior Slash Blast but Sommersault does not cost any Hp!
